Send a Prayer

Muslim Aid is asking you to make Ramadan extra special for four of our beneficiaries across the world. Please take a moment to put your hands together and make dua for four children and their families who have suffered extreme hardship in Sierra Leone, Pakistan and Afghanistan but are now receiving support thanks to your donations, Alhamdulillah.

After reading all about their daily lives, leave your duas and special messages on our prayer board and send your duas to our beneficiaries after Eid.

Share this page with family and friends and ask them to send a prayer.

Mada Khel and his brothers
Child labour is no stranger to Afghanistan, a country rife with severe poverty.  Last year Mada Khel used to work in a motor mechanic shop. He and his younger brothers could not have imagined a different life, free from hardship and without the pressure of providing for their family.  Mada Khel and his brothers were more fortunate. Muslim Aid’s Rainbow Family programme has secured sponsorships for them, which allows all four boys to attend school regularly. They no longer have to worry about bringing food to their family table each evening, and can focus on their studies instead. The Rainbow Family programme provides their school fees and other expenses for the family. It was with your help that we have been able to restore a fleeting childhood back to Mada Khel and his siblings, and it is with your prayers that we hope this childhood will thrive in a war-torn land. We thank you for your support, and ask you now to take a moment to Make a Prayer for Mada Khel and his..

Augustine Larago
Born in the midst of the ten year civil conflict in Sierra Leone, Augustine Larago lost his father due to a clash between rebel and government forces in their village on the Southern Province of Sierra Leonne. Francis was only four years old. Defenceless, and without basic means, Augustine and his mother, Baby Kamara, were forced to hide in the bush to flee the frequent rebel attacks. Shortly after, Augustine’s mother contracted chronic pneumonia and sadly died. Orphaned at the age of six, Augustine was taken in by a local farmer, named Sylvanus Sheku. He is now a part of the household, and the ninth of Sylvanus’ eight children. In 2007 Augustine received a sponsorship from Muslim Aid’s Rainbow Family programme, which has paid for his education and medical care. When he contracted malaria some months back, the cost of his hospital treatment was paid by our programme. “There is no problem with me” Augustine beams, when reflecting on his per..

Ghulab Khan
13 year-old Ghulab Khan has the firm handshake of a grown man. Ghulab works in a local brick factory to support his family. Many children are exploited by factories in this area, which give out high interest loans to entrap workers. An ordinary day for Ghulab starts at Fajr.  In the early morning darkness, he makes the half hour journey to school, on foot. The school day ends at 1pm and Ghulab only has time for a quick lunch before he has to head straight to the brick factory. His four hour shift involves loading four pallets with a minimum of 2,000 bricks per day. For a day’s work of hard labour under the glaring heat, Ghulab gets paid 200 rupees. That’s the equivalent of £1.50. When he gets home in the evening, Ghulab is exhausted. He can only eat and put himself to sleep, in order to wake up early the next morning for the same routine. Muslim Aid has set up a schools in the heart of the brick making industry is mostly attended by employees of the fa..

Baby Aman
A little miracle emerges out of the conflict which has forced over 2 million people to flee their homes in North West Pakistan. Aman is the first baby to be born in Muslim Aid’s Aman camp, where her family has sought refuge. Aman’s grandmother and her family faced a long and dangerous passage across Swat’s mountainous region searching desperately for shelter, food and water. On the difficult journey they are forced to make on foot and under Pakistan’s glaring heat, many mothers have lost their children. Though heavily pregnant, Aman’s mother made it safely to the camp where she delivered her baby girl, who they named after the safe haven.   The internally displaced people of North West Pakistan are still in desperate need of shelter, water and food. The IDP camps provide civilians with a bare minimum of what is available, with medical aid and treatment being insufficient to tend to the huge number of patients sufferi..
